Tottenham line up €50 million move to sign Conor Gallagher

Tottenham are reportedly ready to make a €50 million offer to bring Conor Gallagher back to England as they eye a late move for the midfielder.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham could make a late bid for Conor Gallagher in the region of €50 million to test Atletico Madrid’s resolve. The English midfielder could potentially leave if the offer is deemed enough by the Spanish side to sanction a late sale.

Tottenham are not done with the transfer window just yet, as there could be a few ins and outs before the Monday deadline. Thomas Frank is still eying key reinforcements to bolster his ranks, particularly in defence and midfield. There are links to Manuel Akanji to shore up the backline alongside his Manchester City teammate Nathan Ake.

The central midfield is another intriguing area for Frank to consider bringing in a new player. There are considerable doubts over Yves Bissouma’s future, with the Malian likely to leave before the deadline. Spurs have already managed to sign Xavi Simons before the game on Saturday, and now, they could look for a new midfielder, irrespective of Bissouma’s future.

Tottenham were mentioned as front runners for Conor Gallagher, with the 25-year-old’s future at Atletico Madrid called into some doubt. The Englishman only moved to Spain last summer from Chelsea, and with his club already reinforcing their midfield, a late move is still within the realm of possibilities.

Atletico Madrid might sanction a sale for the right price, and there’s plenty of interest from Premier League sides ahead of the deadline. Manchester United and Crystal Palace were mentioned as suitors, but it appears Spurs are the ones willing to make a sizeable offer.

Tottenham to make Conor Gallagher bid

As per the report, Tottenham are ready to make a €50 million bid to tempt Atletico Madrid into a sale. The price point might appeal to the Spanish giants, who might consider accepting such an offer from Spurs. Should the north Londoners succeed, they will have acted upon their long-time interest in the 25-year-old midfielder and bring him back to England.

With the World Cup about to commence next summer, Gallagher will prioritise the chance to keep playing regularly to stand a chance of being a part of Thomas Tuchel’s group. If the 25-year-old feels opportunities could become harder at Atletico, he could green-light a late exit from the club in favour of Tottenham or whichever club makes a late bid where he can feature regularly.
