West Ham United eyeing Franculino Dju swoop
West Ham United will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Guinea-Bissau international Franculino Dju from Midtjylland in the final days of the summer transfer window.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Franculino Dju is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker before the summer transfer window shuts down. So, the 21-year-old FC Midtjylland centre-forward has emerged as a target for the East London club.
The Hammers are lining up an official offer to sign the African attacker, and they are ready to fork out €13 million to secure his services in the final days of the summer transfer window. However, West Ham may “need to wait a little longer to strike a deal” for the young striker.
Franculino Dju and his career so far
Franculino Dju is the latest African prospect to rise in prominence at FC Midtjylland. Several prodigies have come leaps and bounds at the Danish club, and the highly-rated striker is now making his mark. The 23-year-old spent his formative years in Portugal, graduating from the youth division at SL Benfica before joining FC Midtjylland in July 2023.
The Guinea-Bissau international has been hot off the blocks in the 2025/26 campaign, amassing nine goals and two assists in ten appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, particularly from the Premier League. West Ham United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Premier League adventure beckons?
West Ham United’s interest in Franculino Dju is understandable. While the Hammers have reinforced their offensive unit by signing Callum Wilson, the performances in the first few weeks of the 2025/26 season suggest they can do with another striker. Several candidates, including Dusan Vlahovic, have emerged on West Ham’s radar, with Franculino also a viable target.
The Hammers are lining up a bid worth €13 million to sign the African attacker from Midtjylland in the summer transfer window. However, West Ham will face stiff competition from Como, with the Serie A outfit also ready to pay €13 million to land him from the Scandinavian club.
However, a summer move may not see the light of day, with the report suggesting West Ham may “need to wait a little longer to strike a deal” for the 21-year-old Guinea-Bissau international. It will be interesting to see if a late deal materialises.
