Liverpool ready to loan out Kostas Tsimikas amid AS Roma links

Liverpool have reportedly informed AS Roma of their stance to now allow Kostas Tsimikas to leave on a straight loan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are ready to send Kostas Tsimikas on a straight loan amid links to AS Roma. The Serie A side are now expected to decide on their pursuit as they are keen to add a buy option, as the Merseysiders are eager to part ways with the Greek full-back.

Kostas Tsimikas was long expected to depart Liverpool this summer, following the club’s work in the transfer market. The arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth signalled the idea of at least one of their current left-backs departing, and it appears Arne Slot prefers to keep Andy Robertson in the group.

Liverpool had set a modest price point for Tsimikas to leave, with the 29-year-old wide man attracting some interest, specifically from continental teams. Marseille were interested briefly, but have not followed up on the chase.

AS Roma had been showing the strongest interest in Kostas Tsimikas and had been exploring a loan move for the left-back. The Serie A outfit do want the Greek international on a loan deal, but they do view him as a part of their long-term thinking.

Liverpool had been open to letting him leave on loan, but Fabrizio Romano states that their latest decision only revolves around a straight loan. as Roma reportedly prefer a buy option to go along with the move, and are they now expected to make a decision, as Liverpool have informed the Italians of their decision to let the 29-year-old leave on a temporary deal.

Kostas Tsimikas wants AS Roma move

Tsimikas is eager to make the move to AS Roma to position himself as a starter rather than lingering around at Liverpool as a third-choice left-back. He has two years left with the Merseysiders, which would allow the Giallorossi to push with their idea of adding a buy option for next year.

As things stand, there are not many complications expected to emerge in negotiations, as Kostas Tsimikas’s move to Roma would be good for all parties concerned. The move will depend on the financial terms of the deal, as AS Roma will be confident of getting a buy option in place to bring the Greek international.
