Liverpool keeping tabs on Can Uzun
Arne Slot’s Liverpool are closely monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt’s attacking sensation Can Uzun.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Can Uzun is on the radar of Liverpool following his sensational rise at Eintracht Frankfurt. The Merseyside club are closely monitoring the Turkish attacking sensation and could make a move for him in the future.
Uzun came up the ranks at FC Nuremberg, and on the back of an impressive season with their first team, Frankfurt secured his services last summer. In his debut campaign, he was involved in 31 matches across competitions.
He racked up just over 1,000 minutes and ended up contributing towards eight goals. Thanks to his impressive display last time out, the 19-year-old has a more prominent role this time around. In the first two games of the season, he has contributed towards four goals.
Uzun has already established himself as a key figure in the Turkish national team, and his recent performances suggest he could be the next big thing to come out of Frankfurt.
Following the departure of Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool, the teenager has taken over as Frankfurt’s main man up top. His sensational rise has put him on the radar of multiple top clubs in England.
Liverpool are scouting Uzun
Liverpool, who recently secured the services of Ekitike in a big-money move, already have their eyes set on Uzun. The Reds are scouting the teenager ahead of a potential transfer in the future.
While the Reds are unlikely to push for him this summer, they will continue to track his progress over the course of the 2025/26 season and could return for his signature next summer. They have strong relations with the German club following the Ekitike deal, which could certainly help their cause.
However, the Merseyside club are not the only Premier League club that are monitoring him. So, they will certainly face a lot of competition. More importantly, Frankfurt will certainly demand a fortune for the Turkish gem, whose contract runs until the summer of 2029.
