Milan to abandon move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface
Serie A side Milan had come close to signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface but faced problems around the medical yesterday.
La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s Luca Bianchin has reported that it looks like Milan will pull out of the deal, with the striker set to flow back to Germany. As things stand, everything suggests that the Rossoneri will look to sign two strikers and Boniface will only be able to join in the remote possibility of Bayer Leverkusen opening up to a free loan deal.
Boniface underwent four separate medicals in Milan. The tests revealed that his right knee isn’t 100% fit. The two-time ruptured cruciate ligament is making its presence felt. However, Boniface has missed several games over the past two seasons due to muscle problems, not the cruciate ligament, and this gives Milan pause for thought.
The Nigerian is now going further and further away from Milan – literally and metaphorically.
