Soungoutou Magassa agrees six-year deal with West Ham United

West Ham United will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old French youth international Soungoutou Magassa from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by French outlet L’Equipe, Soungoutou Magassa is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a holding midfielder in the summer transfer window. So, the 21-year-old AS Monaco whizkid has emerged as a target for the East London outfit.

The Frenchman has already struck an agreement on personal terms, and he will sign a six-year contract if he moves to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, talks between West Ham and AS Monaco have advanced, with the Premier League outfit submitting a bid worth €16 million plus €2 million in add-ons.

Soungoutou Magassa has established himself as one of the best young prospects in Ligue 1 since breaking into the first-team squad at AS Monaco. A native of Stains, the 21-year-old travelled around in his youth career, passing through the academies at FC Sucy, RC Joinville, Saint-Maur Lusitanos, and FC Gobelins before graduating from the youth division at AS Monaco.

The French midfield prospect has turned out over 50 times thus far for AS Monaco while chipping in with one goal and one assist. Meanwhile, Magassa’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. West Ham United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

West Ham United’s interest in Soungoutou Magassa makes sense. The Hammers are scouring the market for a holding midfielder amid uncertainties surrounding Guido Rodriguez’s long-term future. Additionally, Edson Alvarez has joined Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal this week.
