Rasmus Hojlund wants Napoli move

Rasmus Hojlund has handed a boost to Napoli, with the 22-year-old Manchester United striker ready to join Serie A champions in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Rasmus Hojlund is the subject of interest from Napoli. The Serie A champions are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window after losing Romelu Lukaku to a thigh injury. So, the 22-year-old Manchester United centre-forward has emerged as a target for the Partenopei.

Recent reports have claimed that the 2024/25 Italian top-flight winners are ready to sign the Dane on a loan deal with a purchase obligation clause. Napoli and Manchester United have continued their talks, and a move may be on the cards, as the young striker is keen on joining the Serie A club in the summer transfer window.

Rasmus Hojlund and his struggles at Manchester United

Rasmus Hojlund has become a peripheral figure at Manchester United despite a solid debut season after arriving from Atalanta in a big-money deal in August 2023. While the 22-year-old was solid in the 2023/24 campaign, he failed to make his mark in his second term with the Red Devils, as the goals dried up.

The Danish international has managed 26 goals and six assists in 95 appearances thus far for Manchester United. However, Ruben Amorim has excluded Hojlund from his plans, although the Manchester United striker’s stock in the market is high, with Napoli among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Serie A return beckons?

Napoli’s interest in Rasmus Hojlund makes sense. The Serie A champions are combing the market for a striker after losing Romelu Lukaku to a hamstring injury. So, while Lorenzo Lucca has joined Napoli on loan from Udinese, Antonio Conte wants another centre-forward before the summer transfer window shuts down.

Hojlund has thus emerged as a viable target for the Partenopei, with the player keen on moving to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Meanwhile, Napoli and Manchester United are ramping up the talks surrounding the 22-year-old Dane, with an initial loan deal on the cards.

Meanwhile, the Danish international has finally accepted his fate after initially resisting the thought of moving on from Manchester United. However, with Ruben Amorim omitting Hojlund against Arsenal last weekend, Hojlund must depart from Old Trafford in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see if he joins Napoli in the coming days.
