Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United tracking Quinten Timber
A host of top Premier League teams are monitoring the situation with Quentin Timber at Feyenoord as a summer move could be on the cards.
According to Caught Offside, Quinten Tember is attracting big interest from Premier League teams. The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are among those monitoring his situation at Feyenoord closely as a serious injury as well as his contract could determine his future in the coming period.
Quinten Timber has been one of the top midfielders in the Eredivisie over the last few years. An unfortunate knee injury sustained in February of this year ended his season prematurely, as some of the interested clubs are closely monitoring his rehabilitation.
In addition, some of the interested clubs are also waiting on Feyenoord to make their decision on the Dutch midfielder. The Eredivisie side values his presence and are keen to renew his current deal that originally expires in 2026. Without an agreement on a new contract, Feyenoord will be forced to sell the dynamic midfielder, as they are set to demand €25-30 million for him.
The likes of Arsenal are interested as per the report, which would seem very interesting given his twin brother, Jurrien Timber is already with the Gunners. The main part of their chase is whether Mikel Arteta truly needs another midfielder in Timber’s mould, as they have already closed in on Martin Zubimendi while Thomas Partey is also expected to renew.
Meanwhile, the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United are the other teams named in the chase, with the duo serious about landing a new dynamic midfielder in the summer. They are both chasing Atalanta’s Ederson, although Timber’s asking price of about €25-30 million may seem like a value-for-money addition.
Injury status could determine Quinten Timber’s future
While Feyenoord are eager to keep him and continue their association with the €25-30 million-rated Dutch midfielder, the current injury could also play a huge role in determining his future. Clubs may not prefer to take a player coming back from a serious knee injury, which has led to interested parties monitoring his rehabilitation.
Liverpool and Arsenal could be seen as those who can take up a front row in this chase. Arne Slot was his manager at Feyenoord and knows exactly how to utilise him, while the €25-30 million-rated Dutch midfielder was considered last summer as an alternative to Zubimendi by Liverpool. While those two could be seen as favourites, Manchester United should not be underestimated in the chase as they surely need a new midfielder.
