Cristhian Mosquera leaning towards RB Leipzig move
Cristhian Mosquera reportedly wants to join RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window amid his links with Liverpool, Crystal Palace, and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Cristhian Mosquera in the summer transfer window. However, the Spanish centre-back prodigy wants to join RB Leipzig from La Liga club Valencia, with Los Che demanding €30 million to part ways with him.
The rise and rise of Cristhian Mosquera
Cristhian Mosquera has established himself as one of the best young prospects in La Liga since breaking into the first-team squad at Valencia CF. The Alicante native has been with Los Che for nearly a decade, and he has come leaps and bounds throughout his spell with the Spanish club.
The 20-year-old broke into the first-team squad at the Mestalla in the 2021/22 season, but he has been a regular in the last two campaigns. Mosquera has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for Los Che while chipping in with one goal. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of well-known clubs like Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and RB Leipzig.
A man in demand
The Spaniard has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time. The Reds are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window due to Virgil van Dijk’s advancing age. In addition, Joe Gomez has been injury-prone throughout his spell with the Merseyside outfit. So, Mosquera is a viable target for Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s interest in Cristhian Mosquera is understandable. The Eagles are in a spot of bother over Marc Guehi’s long-term future amid the English defender’s links with several European bigwigs. So, the Valencia centre-back is an option worth considering for Crystal Palace. As for Tottenham, Cristian Romero is eager to join Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Argentine international’s desire has left Tottenham in a spot of bother, forcing the North London club to consider Mosquera as a target. However, the 20-year-old Spaniard wants to join RB Leipzig when he leaves Valencia, dealing a blow to the three Premier League clubs’ prospects.
While Valencia will demand only €30 million to part ways with the Olympic gold medalist, the three Premier League clubs may not secure a cost-effective deal. Instead, we may see the €30 million-rated Spanish defensive prodigy continuing his career in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.
