AC Milan demanding €130 million to sell Rafael Leao amid Arsenal links

AC Milan are reportedly set to demand at least €130 million for star winger Rafael Leao amid growing interest from Arsenal.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal or any other suitor for Rafael Leao must pay at least €130 million to secure the Portuguese winger. The AC Milan star could leave the club in the summer as the Rossoneri eye a rebuild of sorts keeping the proceeds from the Portuguese’s sale in mind.

AC Milan have not had a good enough season, which did start shakily, then looked promising and then went off again eight at the end. Sergio Conceicao started off by winning the Supercoppa Italiana, only to end his tenure at the club by being on the losing side of the Coppa Italia final.

That cup competition was probably their last hope to secure European football, and Milan are not in any of the continental competitions next season. Hence, there are some expected financial implications, that could potentially force the club to consider offers for a few of their key stars, including Rafael Leao.

Leao has a contract until 2028 with a release clause of €175 million as per the report, and does have some clubs interested. Saudi clubs are keen, while there is reported interest from Chelsea in the winger. Meanwhile, AC Milan are now demanding at least €130 million to sell the Portuguese star who had 25 goals and assists during the season.

Arsenal are also interested in Leao and have reportedly considered paying big for the winger. However, the €130 million mark might be way higher than what the Gunners might want to pay for the player, who has not been consistent in his displays over the years.

Will Arsenal sign Rafael Leao?

There will be a big debate in the Arsenal boardroom on their No.1 target to bolster the left wing, as the assumption behind Leao is that he is seen more as a backup option. Other names like Rodrygo Goes and Nico Williams have been mentioned as targets, and the North Londoners may chase them ahead of the Milan forward.

Even if the Gunners end up considering Leao as their primary option for the left wing, they are unlikely to pay anywhere close to paying the €130 million that AC Milan are demanding. Hence, there is a massive chance for the Rossoneri to cash in, and at this moment, the Saudi clubs might be the ones open to paying what is necessary for Leao as well as offering him attractive wages.
