Manchester City Reach Agreement with AC Milan for Kyle Walker Loan Deal

Manchester City have finalized a loan agreement with AC Milan for their captain, Kyle Walker, marking the end of a highly successful chapter in the defender's career at the Etihad Stadium.

The 34-year-old Englishman has been a cornerstone of City's dominance since his £50 million transfer from Tottenham in 2017. During his time in Manchester, Walker has amassed 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the coveted Champions League.

Walker, who was named City's captain at the start of this season, expressed his desire to explore opportunities abroad, leading to the agreement with AC Milan. According to Sky Sports Italy, the deal includes a loan move with an option for the Serie A side to make the transfer permanent for €5 million (£4.2 million).

If AC Milan exercises the option, Walker’s contract with the Rossoneri will extend until 2027. The defender is expected to arrive in Italy on Thursday to finalize the transfer.

Guardiola's Perspective
Earlier this month, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed Walker’s decision to leave:

"Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad at the end of his career," Guardiola said. "In his mind, he would like to go to another country, to play the last years somewhere else for many reasons."

With Guardiola opting to prioritize players committed to the current campaign, Walker’s departure provides clarity for both parties as City continues to compete on multiple fronts.

AC Milan's Current Status
AC Milan, who sit eighth in Serie A, hope Walker’s experience and leadership will bolster their squad as they aim to climb the league table and secure a place in the Champions League knockout stages.

The Rossoneri remain in the play-off places with two group-stage games remaining, and Walker's addition could prove pivotal in their pursuit of European success.

This move marks a significant shift for both Manchester City and AC Milan, with Walker set to bring his wealth of experience to the Italian giants.
