Chris Wood Signs Two-Year Deal with Nottingham Forest Amid Stellar Form

Nottingham Forest have secured striker Chris Wood on a new two-year contract following his remarkable performances this season. The New Zealand international has been pivotal in Forest’s rise to third place in the Premier League, scoring 14 goals in 22 games.

Previously set to become a free agent at the end of the season, Wood joins teammate Murillo in committing his future to the club. Reflecting on the renewal, Wood expressed optimism about the team's trajectory:

"You can see the dream and ambition this club has," Wood told Sky Sports News. "We've had a great start to the season, but there's still so much more to achieve."

Wood credited the confidence instilled in him by manager Nuno Espírito Santo, his teammates, and the fans as a key driver behind his form.

"Scoring goals as a striker is the biggest confidence booster, but it’s also about hard work and ensuring the team succeeds," he added.

Nuno Hails Murillo’s Long-Term Commitment

Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo also praised center-back Murillo, who recently signed a deal extending until 2029.

"Murillo is a player with immense talent and huge potential for growth," said Nuno. "It’s great to see our players motivated and committed to the club’s vision."

With Chris Wood’s consistency upfront and Murillo’s defensive prowess, Nottingham Forest appears well-positioned to challenge for further success this season. Fans are hopeful that the team can maintain their strong form as they prepare for their next fixture against Bournemouth.
