William Saliba returns to Arsenal team training

France international centre-back William Saliba (25) has made a long-awaited return to team training with Arsenal, as shown by footage published by the Premier League champions on their social accounts. Saliba didn’t play a single minute of competition this season so far as he received treatment to heal back pains that caused him to leave the pitch during France’s 2026 World Cup semi-final loss to Spain in July. At the time, Arsenal anticipated that Saliba would miss, at least, four months of action with the Gunners.

Last month, L’Equipe reported that Saliba would be back in November, and it appears that the centre-back is right on schedule regarding his recovery. Indeed, the former AS Saint-Etienne Academy graduate made his return to team training at Arsenal’s Sobha Realty training ground on Tuesday as the Premier League leaders prepare for their UEFA Champions League away game against Slavia Prague on Wednesday. It remains to be seen in what capacity Saliba will be involved in Arsenal’s next fixtures. Given he has just returned to team training, Saliba is not expected to be called up by France national team manager Zinédine Zidane for the upcoming international break.
