Barcelona youngster could be handed another start vs Aston Villa
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed that Blaugrana starlet Brian Fariñas could be afforded a fresh chance to impress in the club’s next outing.
Youngster Fariñas of course took his place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital this past weekend.
Amid the ongoing personnel crisis in Barcelona’s backline, the 20-year-old – a midfielder by trade – was afforded a surprise start at right-back in a La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés.
And en route to an eventual 6-1 romp, Fariñas more than held his own, linking up with close friend and teammate Lamine Yamal to stellar effect down Barca’s right.
Speaking during his latest pre-match press conference on Monday, Hansi Flick was therefore drawn on the possibility of his latest breakout starlet being afforded a 2nd successive starting berth against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
And the German tactician went on to admit:
“Brian Fariñas has a good understanding with Lamine. He’s an option at right-back for tomorrow’s game.”
