Real Madrid’s Vinícius Jr. appeal rejected
La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Friday been dealt a blow on the personnel front. This comes amid confirmation that the club’s appeal to have Vinícius Jr’s suspension overturned has been rejected.
Wide-man Vinícius was of course hit with a heavy sanction on the part of the Spanish football authorities earlier this week.
After being shown a straight red card for pulling the hair of Villarreal’s Nathan Saliba during a La Liga clash last weekend, the 26-year-old was banned for four domestic fixtures.
Of the collective opinion that this was too severe, the Real Madrid board, in turn, launched an appeal to have the number of games reduced.
As alluded to above, however, on Friday, Los Blancos have officially seen their plea rejected. As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Real Madrid appeal for Vini Jr’s 4-games ban in La Liga has been rejected.’
The Brazilian is therefore primed to sit out all of his side’s upcoming fixtures against Sevilla, Barcelona, Racing Santander and Valencia.
