Barcelona boss Flick hails Spain counterpart Luis de la Fuente
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has this week opened up on his admiration for Spanish national team counterpart Luis de la Fuente.
This of course comes fresh off another thoroughly impressive international break for La Roja.
In their first round of fixtures since being crowned world champions over the summer, Spain over the last couple of weeks racked up four wins from four to open their Nations League campaign.
Barcelona’s players featured front and centre for the Spanish, with the likes of Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsí and Rodri having played starring roles.
And yet, Luis de la Fuente did a masterful job of rotating his squad, ensuring that none of his Blaugrana contingent suffered any form of fitness setback.
Speaking during an exchange with the media late this week, the aforementioned Hansi Flick was therefore keen to heap praise on the man in the Spanish dugout:
“I greatly appreciate what I see from the Spanish national team, not just in terms of performance, but also what Luis de la Fuente is doing with our players. He’s handling their minutes in an excellent way. Of course, some players get more minutes than others, but in the end, I think he’s managing that aspect well. I see that the relationship between us is very good, and I’m happy about that, just as it makes me happy to see the Spanish national team performing at the highest level, it’s the best team in the world.”
