Barcelona star’s January exit links mount as Chelsea & Bayern Munich ready bids
Two of European football’s leading clubs are giving serious consideration to tabling offers for Barcelona star Jules Koundé following the turn of the year.
This comes amid mounting speculation pointing towards an incoming Camp Nou exit for the Frenchman.
Defender Koundé finds himself in something of a difficult situation in Barcelona at present. Having lost the trust of head coach Hansi Flick, the Frenchman has been restricted to just a solitary start from seven in La Liga to this point in the campaign.
Eric García sits comfortably clear of Koundé in Barca’s right-back pecking order, with the latter also not in favour at centre-back at present.
Such woes have given rise to inevitable speculation surrounding a potential Blaugrana departure for Koundé, with the former Sevilla man still held in high regard across the continent.
And as alluded to above, ready to pounce in the case of Deco and co. opening the door to a January sale are a pair of heavyweight suitors. As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing journalists Christian Falk and Matteo Moretto respectively:
‘Bayern Munich want to sell Sacha Boey, and after that, their primary target would be Koundé. But the Germans will face competition because Chelsea are another team pursuing him.’
