Finn Dahmen to make Germany debut against Greece

Finn Dahmen is set to make his Germany debut when they face Greece on Sunday evening in Jürgen Klopp’s fourth game as head coach.

According to a report by Kicker, the ‘signs are increasingly pointing’ to Augsburg’s custodian making his senior debut for the national team. If that is the case, the 28-year-old would become the fourth goalkeeper that Klopp has used in as many games, with Marc-André ter Stegen (Ajax) featuring against the Netherlands, Alexander Nübel (Beşiktaş) against Greece and Jonas Urbig (Bayern Munich) versus Serbia.

During the final training session on Saturday morning, Augsburg’s Dahmen trained separately from Urbig and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Noah Atubolu, an indication that he will start in goal against Greece, per Kicker.

The last time this happened? Six years ago. Between November 2019 and September 2020, Manuel Neuer, Kevin Trapp, Bernd Leno and ter Stegen alternated 90 minutes across four consecutive matches.
