Real Madrid star eyeing December return to the pitch
An insight into the injury recovery timeline being drawn up by the medical staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid for Raúl Asencio has been forthcoming online.
This comes amid the understanding that, in the best-case scenario, the defender could be back on the pitch before the year is out.
Stopper Asencio was for his part condemned to a fresh spell on the sidelines earlier this week. After conservative treatment ultimately failed to produce the desired results, the 23-year-old was forced under the knife to repair a long-term tibia problem.
Reports have since varied when it comes to Asencio’s recovery schedule, with some outlets having pointed towards a potential absence of as long as four months.
If the latest update on the situation to have surfaced on Friday is anything to go by, though, then the Spaniard’s comeback may not be quite as far in the future…
As per a report from Diario AS:
‘Asencio knows his return is unlikely to be possible for at least three months, although he will try to be ready for the Copa del Rey opener on December 16th.’
