Manchester United will look to sign 24-year-old German international Kevin Schade from Brentford in the January transfer window.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in Kevin Schade, but they will now face stiff competition for his signature. Meanwhile, Brentford would prefer to keep the 24-year-old winger at the Gtech Community Stadium for the remainder of the 2026/27 season, thus creating a stumbling block for his prospective suitors.

How has Kevin Schade performed for Brentford?

Kevin Schade has established himself as one of the best wingers in the Premier League since joining Brentford from SC Freiburg. The West London club initially signed the German international on loan in January 2023 before completing a permanent move for £22 million in the subsequent summer transfer window.

Schade has made considerable progress in the last three and a half years, becoming a mainstay in the final third for Brentford. The 24-year-old, who has made over 100 appearances for the Bees thus far, enjoyed his breakthrough at the West London club last season, amassing eight goals and four assists in 35 Premier League outings. He has also scored thrice already this term, while his progress has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Manchester United will pursue a versatile attacker next year, as Michael Carrick needs more quality in the final third. While signing a specialist striker should be the priority, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo’s utility in the striker’s berth means signing a productive winger who can play on both wings is also a viable alternate option for Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s interest in Kevin Schade is logical. The Gunners were also eager to sign the Brentford winger in the summer transfer window, but a deal did not materialise. The continued pursuit reflects a vacancy in the left-wing berth, as Christos Tzolis is the only specialist left winger in the squad after Arsenal sold Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in the summer.

As for Liverpool, the Reds need a right-winger to fill Mohamed Salah’s void on that flank.
