Kylian Mbappé (27) sustained an injury in his game-winning action against Turkiye on Friday night as Zinédine Zidane’s era as France manager got off to a winning start (1-0).

Mbappé went down immediately after putting Les Bleus in the lead. Post-match, the FFF confirmed that the Real Madrid forward had sustained a knee tendon injury. His withdrawal from Zidane’s squad for the rest of the extended international break has been confirmed. He left the team hotel on Saturday morning.

Les Bleus must still face Belgium twice, as well as Italy, during the current international break. All four of the games during this break are UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Despite there being three more games over the next week and a half, L’Équipe understands that France will not call up a replacement for their injured captain. Without their captain, Les Bleus’ squad set off for Brussels on Saturday morning. Their next fixture is against Belgium on Monday night.
