Juventus are reportedly ready to open talks with Olympique Lyonnais regarding a potential future transfer of Loïs Openda (26), according to reports in Tuttosport.

Loaned to the Rhône-based club this summer, the Belgian striker has used his early appearances in his new colours to regain his confidence and consistency. Starting in each of his nine appearances for OL, Openda has already proved decisive on three occasions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Above all, the former RB Leipzig player has demonstrated, through his athletic ability and his link-up play with his team-mates, that he would undoubtedly have a key role to play if Lyon are to have a successful season, both domestically and internationally.

Under contract with Juve until 2030, Openda had a disappointing first season in Italy (two goals in 34 matches) and decided to leave Turin to get back on track with his football.

However, even if he performs well for Lyon, there is no guarantee that the Bianconeri’s management will give him a second chance, as they may well set about looking for a new striker in a year’s time. A sale of Openda, coupled with the departure of Jonathan David (26), currently on loan at Atlético Madrid, could therefore enable Juventus to realise their ambition.
