Two Barcelona stars agree new contracts
Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona have this weekend agreed to new contracts with the club.
The first comes in the form of star frontman Raphinha. Brazilian international is for his part of course fresh off nothing short of a historic opening to the new campaign.
Afforded both captaincy status and a new position at centre-forward, the 29-year-old has responded with 14 direct goal contributions in just seven appearances.
The Camp Nou brass therefore wasted little time in recently moving to tie Raphinha down for the long term. And as alluded to above, on Saturday, contract talks between the two parties have borne fruit.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Barcelona agree new deal with Raphinha! All set to be signed. The agreement will be until June 2030, four more years.’
And as alluded to above, the imminent contract renewals in Catalunya’s capital will not end there. Also set to be rewarded with improved terms on the part of Deco and co. is Marc Bernal.
Midfield starlet Bernal has spent the early weeks of the new term rotating in and out of Barcelona’s XI, expected to act largely as a backup to summer signing Rodri for the remainder of the campaign.
Still just 19, though, the Spaniard is considered the future of the Blaugrana’s engine room by Hansi Flick and his staff.
Bernal, as a result, has joined Raphinha in being handed a new deal, with the youngster’s terms set to run all the way through the summer of 2031:
