This comes after the Brazilian revealed his intention to stay put in Blaugrana colours for the long-term.

Frontman Raphinha has of course taken his place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the early weeks of the new season. This comes owing to nothing short of a historic individual opening to the campaign.

Across seven appearances between La Liga and the Champions League to date, the former Leeds United man has remarkably managed to rack up 14 direct goal contributions.

Word was in turn recently forthcoming that those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou have already begun working on a new contract for Raphinha.

And if the latest statement on the part of the 29-year-old is anything to go by, then he appears to have every intention of putting pen to paper on this deal. Speaking during an interview with RAC1, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, this week, Raphinha confirmed:

“I plan to sign a new contract at Barcelona! My hope is to stay here until retirement. I hope to be a Barça player until the end of my career.”
