Le Havre look to sign Lille’s Arnaud Bodart in ‘joker’ deal
Le Havre AC are nearing the signing of Lille OSC goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart (28) on a ‘joker’ deal, as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri.
Le Havre look set to lose Lionel Mpasi for a prolonged period of time. Whilst the club are yet to officially communicate, it is reported that the goalkeeper has suffered an Achilles tendon injury. It is an injury that would rule him out for much of the campaign. As per rules in France, a serious injury to a player in the squad allows a club to go out and sign an extra player, provided that they play in France. This is called a ‘joker’ transfer.
It is a rule that looks set to be exploited by Le Havre. Bodart, the No.2 at Lille, is on the verge of moving to the Normand club. An agreement between the Belgian goalkeeper and HAC has been reached. He is set to undergo his medical on Friday afternoon.
