Injury update provided on Barcelona star after early withdrawal vs Valencia

An early insight into the wellbeing of Barcelona star Eric García has come to the fore on Sunday. This comes after the World Cup winner sparked concern across the Blaugrana fanbase.

Eric was for his part in from the off once again this evening, as Barcelona made the trip to Mestalla for a La Liga clash with Valencia.

With less than half an hour on the clock, however, the former Manchester City man was forced off. After a nasty off-ball collision with teammate Rodri left him grounded and bleeding from the nose, the visitors’ medical staff showed little hesitation in making the call that Eric was in no fit state to continue.

The stopper, in turn, was replaced in Hansi Flick’s backline by Jules Koundé.

And as alluded to above, as Barca saunter towards another three points at Mestalla, an early update on Eric’s wellbeing has surfaced online. As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘The Martorell defender was injured after colliding with his teammate, Rodri, from a corner kick and had to go to the dressing room with a broken nose.’
