Real Madrid fans call ‘corruption’ after first defeat of the season at Real Betis
Supporters of La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Friday evening made known their collective bemusement with the team of officials in charge of their side’s latest outing.
This comes after Los Blancos were condemned to a first defeat of the campaign, at the hands of Real Betis.
After substitute Troy Parrott notched his first goal since making the move to La Cartuja in the summer, José Mourinho’s visitors were afforded a golden opportunity to snatch a share of the spoils late on.
Upon the referee pointing to the penalty spot after Vinícius Jr. was felled by Natan inside the Betis box, Kylian Mbappé stepped up to take responsibility from 12 yards. The Frenchman’s ensuing effort was kept out, however, before the hosts’ defenders swarmed the scene to clear up the rebound.
And it was the latter intervention which has since caused quite a stir amongst those of a Real Madrid persuasion. As showcased below, the Blancos faithful are up in arms regarding the influence of Marc Bartra on the sequence of play:
The Betis player who cleared the ball was inside the box BEFORE the penalty was taken.

The referee has decided it will NOT be retaken 😂😂😂
So much so that some have gone as far as to call ‘corruption’ on the part of those in the VAR room at La Cartuja:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
