Official: Girona announce deal for former Barcelona & Celta Vigo star
Segunda outfit Girona have on Thursday announced a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks. This comes amid confirmation of Carles Pérez having put pen to paper on a short-term deal with the Catalans.
Winger Pérez has for his part spent the last six years working to find a full-time home for himself. After departing boyhood club Barcelona for AS Roma in Italy, the 28-year-old went on to enjoy ensuing stints with the likes of Celta Vigo, Getafe and, most recently, Greek outfit Aris Thessaloniki.
Not part of the plans of parent club Celta for the season ahead, Pérez in turn saw his contract terminated earlier this week.
And as alluded to above, it has not taken the former Spanish youth international at all long to find a new landing spot. As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of La Liga 2 side Girona:
‘Girona FC has reached an agreement with Carles Pérez for the player to join the red-and-white discipline. The Catalan winger arrives at the Club as a free agent, after terminating his contract with Celta de Vigo, and signs with Girona FC for one season.’
👋 BENVINGUT CARLES PÉREZ
