Thilo Kehrer (29) is set to join Ajax on loan from AS Monaco, according to Fabrizio Romano. A verbal agreement has been reached between the Dutch club and the German international defender, with the defender moving to Amsterdam on a straight loan deal. There is no option to buy included in the deal.

The former West Ham defender has already completed his medical and signed his contract, meaning the transfer is now effectively complete. Ajax will therefore add an experienced defender to their squad ahead of the remainder of the season. The 29-year-old joined Monaco permanently from West Ham United in 2024 after initially spending six months on loan with the Ligue 1 side. He has since established himself as a regular option for the Principality club.

Kehrer set for Amsterdam

Capable of playing both centre-back and right-back, Kehrer has also earned 28 senior caps for Germany during his career. The move represents a late-window departure for Monaco, while Ajax have moved quickly to secure defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
