Lyon trying to lure Wolfsburg winger Mohamed Amoura away from Nice
Olympique Lyonnais are reportedly attempting to prevent VfL Wolfsburg’s Mohamed Amoura (26) from signing for OGC Nice, according to information from L’Équipe.
Although he was thought to be on the radar of Les Aiglons – with whom the Algerian is said to be very close to agreeing a loan deal with an option to buy – Amoura is therefore being heavily courted by the Rhône-based club.
Having joined VfL last summer from Union Saint-Gilloise for nearly €15m, the Tahir-born player is coming off a successful season with the German club, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
Under contract until 2029, Amoura could therefore soon find himself in Ligue 1, having reportedly attracted interest from Stade Rennais as well as Udinese in recent hours.
An Algerian international with 47 caps to his name, the striker has scored 19 goals for Les Fennecs, having missed three of their four World Cup matches due to a hamstring injury.
