Barcelona & Real Sociedad reach transfer agreement
The respective boards at La Liga rivals Barcelona and Real Sociedad have this week reached an agreement on the terms of a transfer. This comes amid confirmation of Héctor Fort preparing to link up wih the latter.
Defender Fort has long been deemed surplus to requirements in Catalunya’s capital this summer. After a season out on loan with Elche, the 20-year-old failed to convince Barcelona boss Hansi Flick of his readiness to play a prominent role back at the Camp Nou this coming season.
On the lookout for fresh funds on the market, the Blaugrana brass have therefore made Fort available for transfer ahead of the fast-approaching transfer deadline.
A number of clubs from across Spain and beyond, in turn, expressed an interest in the services of the versatile full-back. And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, one such outfit have beaten out the competition to his signature.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Real Sociedad reach full verbal agreement with Barcelona for Hector Fort, here we go! Fee worth €8m plus 50% sell-on clause and buy back clause around €20m for Barça to mantain future control on the player.’
