West Ham United have joined the race to sign SCO Angers defender Jacques Ekomié (23), as per a report from L’Équipe.

The left-back will be allowed to leave Angers this summer. Since joining the club on a free transfer back in 2024, the Gabon international has made 54 appearances for Le Sco, but he may already have played his last for the Ligue 1 club.  

Wrexham submit verbal offer for Ekomié

He has been the subject of interest throughout the window. Bundesliga side Hamburg have notably shown strong interest, Foot Mercato understands, however, they have yet to reach an agreement with Angers. The publication that Wrexham, too, were interested in Ekomié, and that they had even submitted a verbal offer worth €5m.

Whilst L’Équipe confirms interest from the Welsh club, the publication understands that Angers’ valuation stands at €10m. Wrexham may also have to contend with interest from EFL Championship rivals, West Ham United.
