Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has revealed that he and several members of his Blancos squad are currently making use of the club’s training base as living headquarters.

Mourinho is for his part of course fresh off getting his 2nd stint as Real Madrid boss up and running in positive fashion. Afforded an extended break following the World Cup, the capital heavyweights kicked their La Liga campaign into gear with a trip to Espanyol on Saturday.

When all was said and done, the visitors emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, thanking summer signing Carlos Espí for a last-gasp winner.

Speaking to the media following the full-time whistle at the RCDE Stadium, José Mourinho was therefore inevitably drawn on the name of his young frontman.

And the Portuguese’s response proved a fascinating one, in confirming that he is currently living alongside both Espí and Marc Cucurella at Valdebebas:

“I like Carlos Espí! I like him a lot. We live together at Valdebebas… he is very funny. We have breakfast together. We’re living there with Cucurella too! All players should know we need all of them, not 13 or 14.”
