Arsenal in talks with Galatasaray for Victor Osimhen
Arsenal remain in talks with Galatasaray to sign Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen (27), according to Foot Mercato. The Premier League champions are keen to sign a reliable goalscorer to bring competition to Viktor Gyökeres and bolster Mikel Arteta’s attacking options. Arsenal get their Premier League title defense underway this Friday against promoted side Coventry City.
With 30 goal contributions the past season with Galatasaray, Osimhen is highly-valued by Arteta, but it doesn’t mean that the Gunners will submit a bid to their Süper Lig counterparts, given they are reportedly far from reaching an agreement on personal terms. Osimhen reportedly earns a net €20m salary per year with Galatasaray, with which he is contracted until 2029.
The Gunners can’t match those wages, but they have seemingly made their interest known, should Osimhen accepts to lower his salary.
