Lyon’s Tanner Tessmann on the radar of two Premier League clubs
Olympique Lyonnais’ Tanner Tessmann (24) is reportedly on the radar of Brentford and Ipswich Town, according to information from L’Équipe.
Under contract until 2029, the US international – who has 14 caps (one goal) – boasts athletic statistics that have caught the eye of the scouting departments at the clubs interested in him.
Signed in 2024 from Venezia for €6m, the player who came through the FC Dallas academy has never managed to win over Lyon’s supporters. Nor, for that matter, has he impressed the club’s management, who have been looking to offload him since the start of the summer.
Although highly regarded by Paulo Fonseca, who has not hesitated to deploy him in various positions in recent months, Tessmann has nevertheless regularly been criticised for his obvious weaknesses, particularly in terms of technical ability.
This did not, however, prevent him from featuring in 41 matches across all competitions last season, 28 of which he started.
