Breakthrough Barcelona talent to replace Marc Casadó in Hansi Flick’s squad this season

The coaching staff at La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to promote from within in their bid to replace the outbound Marc Casadó this coming season.

This comes amid the understanding that Xavi Espart is essentially set to step into the void left by the Spanish international in Hansi Flick’s first-team ranks.

Midfielder Casadó is for his part set to depart Catalunya’s capital before the summer is out, having been deemed surplus to requirements by Flick and his staff.

Considered a rotation option, the Barcelona brass are therefore eager not to dip back into the market to source a replacement for the 22-year-old. Instead, the Blaugrana, it is claimed, are ready to lean on the talents of young full-back Xavi Espart.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, after shining in a midfield berth during pre-season:

‘Xavi Espart is expected to fill the spot on the roster that Marc Casadó will vacate, whose number ’17’ is no longer listed on the league website as he finalizes his departure.’
