Newcastle United prowl for Milan’s Christopher Nkunku but Leipzig advance in move

Serie A side Milan are now keen on selling attacker Christopher Nkunku, who has attracted interest from Newcastle United. But for now, RB Leipzig are making advances over a move.

MilanNews report that the Rossoneri are awaiting formal approaches for the Frenchman, with the Magpies and the German club in the race for him.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported further, claiming that Leipzig have made an initial approach for Nkunku. They have made contact with his entourage and are now attempting to sign him on an initial loan deal with the option to buy.

This formula doesn’t suit Milan, who are only looking to sell him permanently for a fee of €35 million.

The player hasn’t made a final decision about his next club yet, with the report also indicating that other clubs — possibly like Newcastle United, could be in the race for the 28-year-old’s signature.

Milan want to avoid loss

Milan paid a significant amount for Nkunku last summer and since it has only been a year, they would believe his stock hasn’t dropped significantly. That is why they would be adamant in keeping their valuation for him high and that stance does make sense.
