Barcelona dealt a fresh transfer blow
La Liga champions Barcelona have on Saturday been dealt a noteworthy setback on the transfer front. This comes amid the understanding that Blaugrana’s latest offer for Rodri as been rejected.
Barca’s ongoing pursuit of Manchester City standout Rodri has of course dominated the headlines across Spain and England alike over the last couple of weeks.
After Frenkie de Jong was struck down by a fresh long-term injury blow, the Camp Nou brass quickly set sights on Rodri as a potential replacement. From here, the 30-year-old informed Deco and co. of his total desire to link up with Hansi Flick’s squad.
Barcelona and Manchester City have since been locked in discussions over the terms of a deal, ahead of the expiration of Rodri’s contract at The Etihad next summer.
To date, however, the parties have been unable to find common ground. And if the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday is anything to by, then those in a position of power at Man City appear to remain unmoved by the financial terms on offer.
As per a report from RMC Sport:
‘After two proposals already rejected by Manchester City, FC Barcelona have made a third offer for the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, once again turned down by the Cityzens. The Sky Blues are sticking to their demand of 80 million euros.’
