Former Cardiff City striker Wilfried Kanga is set for a move to Saudi Arabia. As reported by HLN, the former Cardiff forward, who struggled in Wales, is leaving Gent in the Belgian Pro League to join Al-Fateh for around €4.5m. Kanga only joined Gent from Dinamo Zagreb last summer but has now got the chance to earn significantly more money in Saudi Arabia with Al-Fateh.

The 28-year-old Ivorian striker first played in Belgium back in 2023 when he joined Standard Liege on loan from Hertha Berlin. After impressing with 12 goals in 37 games, he was loaned out to Cardiff for the 2024/2025 season. However, he only lasted six months with Cardiff, failing to score in 16 appearances. He joined Dinamo Zagreb for the rest of the season, scoring three goals in 16 games. In the summer he joined Gent, where he again scored 12 goals, this time in 39 games.

Gent will make a profit on Kanga but will likely need to sign a new striker to replace him if the rumours surrounding Max Dean’s imminent departure are also true.
