Juventus outcast Teun Koopmeiners remains in the crosshairs of several Premier League clubs, but he could end up staying in Serie A. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have joined the race for the Dutch midfielder, who has fallen out of Luciano Spalletti’s long-term project at the Allianz Stadium.

Deemed surplus to requirements, Koopmeiners is widely expected to leave Turin by the end of the summer. Juventus paid Atalanta an eye-watering €55 million to sign the 28-year-old in 2024. However, after his meteoric rise in Bergamo, the Dutchman has failed to settle in the new environment.

Koopmeiners collected 33 Serie A appearances last term. Yet, he made just 18 starts. More importantly, he finished the season without a single goal contribution to his name. Tired of waiting for the player to recapture his Atalanta form, Juventus have put him on the chopping block.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa and Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Koopmeiners.
