Nayef Aguerd set to join Real Sociedad on loan from Marseille

Nayef Aguerd (30) is set to join Real Sociedad on loan with an obligation to buy from Olympique de Marseille this summer, according to a report from Foot Mercato. The Morrocan international defender looks set to become one of many players to leave OM whilst the transfer window remains open.

Les Phocéens are under pressure to make sales this summer in order to satisfy the demands of the DNCG. Ageurd’s departure would help OM towards that venture as they reach an agreement for the former West Ham centre back to move to San Sebastien. Aguerd would sign a 5-year deal with Sociedad once the purchase option is exercised at the end of the loan move.

Aguerd to return to Spain

The Morrocan is no stranger to La Liga. The former Dijon defender previously spent time on loan at Real Sociedad while he was playing in the Premier League for West Ham United. He is now set to return to the club for a second loan spell which should become permanent after the deal’s conclusion.
