Le Havre to sign former West Bromwich Albion striker Josh Maja
Le Havre FC are close to wrap up the signing of free agent Josh Maja (27), according to a report from L’Equipe. The Nigeria international centre-forward left EFL Championship side upon the expiry of a three-year deal this summer. Maja is set for a return to France after spending three campaigns with Bordeaux, from 2019 to 2021, and from 2022-2023. Maja scored 16 goals with Les Marine et Blanc in that Ligue 2 season.
The 27-year-old Maja will look to bring his experience to Le Havre. He is set to sign a two-year deal with an option for a third season. The Normans are expected to fight to maintain their Ligue 1 status beyond May 2027. Le Havre were in the market for a centre-forward after parting ways with Issa Soumaré, who joined Ligue 1 rivals Rennes as a free agent.
