Hervé Koffi set to leave RC Lens
Hervé Koffi confirmed his exit from SCO Angers on Wednesday. The goalkeeper excelled on loan from RC Lens last season. However, Le SCO, due to imposed financial restrictions, couldn’t make the move permanent, as they had hoped. Instead, they signed Anthony Lopes, whose contract had expired at FC Nantes, on a free transfer.
After a stellar season, Koffi therefore returns to parent club Lens. However, his path to the first team is now blocked by Robin Risser. His performances for Les Sang et Or last season earned him a place in Didier Deschamps’ FIFA World Cup squad. Now in the France national team, he is displaceable as the No.1.
As a result, Koffi will not be retained by Lens this summer, as per a report from L’Équipe. The publication understands that three clubs are interested in the Burkina Faso international. His contract at the Ligue 1 club runs until 2028.
