Go Ahead Eagles talented Danish midfielder set for Saint-Etienne switch

Merle Heppenhuis is reporting that Jakob Breum is set to leave Go Ahead Eagles to join Saint-Etienne. Heppenhuis reported that the Danish midfielder was not present at Go Ahead Eagles training as he was on his way to France to finalise a deal with Saint-Etienne in the second tier of French football. It is certainly a blow for Go Ahead Eagles to lose a player of Breum’s talents, while for Saint-Etienne, the 22-year-old should help them in their quest to return to Ligue 1 at the first time of asking.

Breum had another strong season for Go Ahead Eagles last season. The former Odense Boldklub midfielder scored six goals and provided six assists in 37 games, following on from his 11 goals and five assists in 31 games during the 2024/2025 season. Breum has played three seasons in the Dutch top flight for Go Ahead Eagles, playing 105 games and scoring 20 goals, with 14 assists. During his time with Go Ahead Eagles, Breum also won the KNVB Cup during the 2024/2025 season.

Breum has also been capped at youth level by Denmark
