OGC Nice close in on new sporting director
In recent weeks, OGC Nice have been in the market for a successor for Florian Maurice, whose exit from the club is expected to be confirmed at the end of the season.
However, the uncertainty looming over the club has prevented Nice from making an appointment. Grégory Lorenzi was expected to join, and as per a report from Nice-Matin, even had an agreement in place in the event that the club remained in Ligue 1. However, Nice are still not guaranteed of playing in the top flight next season and Olympique de Marseille profited from the uncertainty to swoop him. Lorenzi is confirmed to be leaving Stade Brestois but his arrival at OM has not been confirmed.
Nice have been forced to look elsewhere, and Foot Mercato understands that they may now have found their man: AC Milan technical director Geoffrey Moncada. Formerly a recruiter at local rivals AS Monaco, Moncada is likely to leave his post in Milan and could arrive at Le Gym to take Maurice’s role.
