PSG’s Achraf Hakimi unable to start against Arsenal?
Paris Saint-Germain, in order to maintain fitness levels ahead of the UEFA Champions League final, held an in-house friendly on Saturday. However, neither Ousmane Dembélé nor Achraf Hakimi were involved in the game.
Dembélé, speaking to several media outlets this week, has reassured that he will be 100% fit for the UCL final against Arsenal next Saturday. Internally, there is also optimism that this is the case, although if he does not return to first-team training by Tuesday, doubts will start to rise that the Ballon d’Or winner will be able to start the encounter.
L’Équipe understands that there are already significant doubts surrounding Hakimi’s ability to start the game. The Moroccan has been out longer than Dembélé, having come off with a thigh injury in the first leg of their UCL semi-final win over Bayern Munich.
As per L’Équipe, the game against Arsenal may come too soon for Hakimi, who may have to settle for a place on the bench. It would likely see Warren Zaire-Emery start at right-back, with Fabián Ruiz coming in in midfield.
