Christos Tzolis responds to Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City links

Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis opens up on his future amidst links with Arsenal, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are all interested in the services of Christos Tzolis, who has had a sensational season with Club Brugge. On the back of securing the Belgian league title with a 2-2 draw against KV Mechelen on Thursday, the Greek international was asked about his future during an interview with DAZN Belgium.

Patro Eisden manager Stijn Stijnen, who works as a consultant for the channel, specifically asked the 24-year-old:

“What will it be Christos? Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal.”

All three clubs were being linked with him, and Stijnen was keen to see which club the Greek international would prefer. Tzolis kept his options open; he didn’t rule out the three Premier League giants as well as the possibility of staying at the Belgian club.

The left-winger said, “I don’t know. It depends on Club Brugge. It’s not up to me to decide. We’ll see what the best option is for me. It’s not just about the name. We also have to ask ourselves what the best project is.”

“Why not stay at Club Brugge? I have a contract until 2029. I’m a professional. I have to respect my team. The team that pays me. I’m here to celebrate. Then we’ll see about my future. It’s still early. Today, I have to celebrate. I have a vacation.”

Tzolis’ contract at Brugge runs until 2029, and he seems open to staying at the club beyond this season. However, he did suggest that he would look at the options and decide based on which project is the best for him to continue to grow as a player.

His role in the team and the overall project will have a big say in his future. More importantly, Club Brugge will have the final decision, as they have complete control over his future.

Premier League trio are after Tzolis

Manchester United have already made contact as they look to sign the youngster, who has 21 goals and 28 assists in his 51 outings this term. He contributed towards both their goals against Mechelen last time out.

The Red Devils seek more quality in the final third, someone who can compete with the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo and Amad Diallo on the flanks. With Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Rasmus Hojlund, and Joshua Zirkzee likely to leave on a permanent basis, they will certainly look to make multiple additions in attack.

But they will have to rival Arsenal and Manchester City. The Gunners are looking for an upgrade on the left flank, which Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard currently occupy. The duo could end up leaving Emirates, and Tzolis could come in as a potential replacement.

While City have also been linked, they already have Jeremy Doku and Savinho on the left, and unless any one of them ends up leaving, he doesn’t really fit in. However, City tend to go after players they feel could make a difference, irrespective of the current composition of their squad.

Club Brugge would be open to negotiations, and they will reportedly look for over €36 million for the 24-year-old. As a result, it will be interesting to see how things pan out.
