Antonio Cassano backs Curtis Jones for Inter Milan success amid emerging links

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has been linked with a move away from the club, and Inter Milan have been interested in him.

Curtis Jones is reportedly open to joining Inter Milan, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can finalise a deal. The 25-year-old has struggled for regular playing time at Liverpool this season and needs to play more often. He is at the peak of his career, and sitting on the bench at Liverpool will not benefit him.

He has shown himself to be a quality player at the highest level with Liverpool, and there is no doubt he is good enough to start regularly for Inter Milan. They could use more quality in the middle of the park, and the Englishman will add versatility and technical ability to the team. He can operate as a central midfielder, as an attacking midfielder, and as a right-back. He could be the ideal utility man for the Italian champions.

Meanwhile, former Inter Milan striker Antonio Cassano has heaped praise on the Liverpool midfielder and claimed that he could be an excellent signing for the club. He also added that Jones could prove to be a better acquisition for Inter Milan than Scott McTominay for Napoli.

Cassano wants Curtis Jones at Inter Milan

Cassano told , “Curtis Jones for Inter? He would be an excellent signing, he’s a pacey midfielder, and he’s a Champions League-oriented player. He’d be better than McTominay, he has great quality, and at Liverpool he won a lot playing, unlike Zaccardo and Barzagli, who are World Champions but never played.”

It will be interesting to see if Jones can hit the ground running in Italian football. The English international has the physicality and technical attributes to succeed in Serie A, and he could be a very important player for them next season.

On the other hand, Liverpool are already lacking in depth in the midfield unit and losing Jones would be a mistake. The 25-year-old Englishman is a versatile player who can operate in multiple roles, and he is a local player who understands the club well and resonates with the fan base. Ideally, Liverpool should look to keep hold of him.
