Tottenham relaxed on futures of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Luka Vuskovic

Tottenham are relaxed about the future of defensive trio Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Luka Vuskovic amid ongoing speculation.

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham are not overly worried about the futures of key defensive trio Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Luka Vuskovic. Those defenders have attracted plenty of speculation recently, with the North Londoners taking up a relaxed stance on their immediate and long-term futures.

Tottenham could face a testing summer window if their current form continues and they miss out on Champions League football. In their current standing in the Premier League, Spurs are closer to the relegation zone than a top-four place at the moment, which has caused plenty of worries in the background.

With that comes concerns over player futures, especially with defensive trio Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Luka Vuskovic. Given Spurs have long contracts with each of those key stars, they are taking a relaxed stance on the futures of the trio.

Starting with Romero, who secured himself a four-game ban with another red card for violent conduct against Manchester United, he did sign a new deal back in the summer. There is widespread speculation that the Argentine will leave amid interest from La Liga, but Tottenham are not concerned and believe their decision to hand the contract was meant for the long-term future.

Micky van de Ven is also a defender who has gained a massive reputation for his performances, with some reports linking him with an exit without Champions League football. Liverpool are linked with the Dutchman, as they view him as a long-term target amid their plans for a defensive revamp in the summer. However, Spurs are ready to point towards the three years that remain on the Dutchman’s contract, and they are also planning a massive pay rise via a new deal.

Luka Vuskovic to depart Tottenham?

The biggest worry might be with a player yet to be integrated into the side, as Vuskovic is attracting interest from Bayern Munich. Tottenham are protected by a long-term contract for the Croatian talent, who has been sensational during his loan spell in the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich are always on board to bring the best performers in their domestic league and will try to sign the young defender.

Spurs believe Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Luka Vuskovic are primed for long-term futures in north London and will be part of the squad for next season. While there may be departures for the likes of Radu Dragusin as well as additions of new defenders, the idea of offloading the trio is not rife among those in charge of the club, despite the widespread interest.
