Dusan Vlahovic contract talks with Juventus break down
Chelsea, Barcelona, and Tottenham Hotspur have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Dusan Vlahovic’s future has been a massive talking point for almost a year now. The Serbian striker has been constantly linked with a move away from Juventus. With his contract at the Serie A club running out in less than six months, multiple top clubs are closely monitoring his situation.
Meanwhile, Juventus have been hoping to tie him down to a new deal. But things have not worked out for him so far. After initially giving up hope, the Old Lady did once again try to strike a new deal with the former Fiorentina star. But according to a report from French outlet Foot Mercato, contract renewal talks with Juventus have completely broken down.
It is a massive boost for clubs like Chelsea, Barcelona, and Tottenham, who have been keeping tabs on the Serbian international with hopes of signing a star striker on a free transfer ahead of next season.
Dusan Vlahovic has only gone from strength to strength since joining Juventus from Fiorentina at the start of 2022. While the Serb has had his ups and downs, he has certainly done a great job for them overall.
An adductor injury has kept him on the sidelines for a significant part of the ongoing season, but he has still managed to rack up decent numbers. In just 874 minutes of first-team action across his 17 appearances, Vlahovic has six goals and two assists.
Juventus would love to have the 26-year-old striker in their squad for years to come. But with his contract running out at the end of the season, their chances of holding onto him looks very unlikely. The Serb was on the verge of joining rivals AC Milan last summer, but the move eventually collapsed.
Vlahovic’s departure looks certain
While the Old Lady did hold renewal talks post that, those talks have not resumed since the summer. The contractual relationship remains broken, and there does not seem to be any chance of Dusan Vlahovic staying in Turin next season.
Clubs like Barcelona, Chelsea, and Tottenham are ready to pounce on him once he becomes a free agent. They can even agree on a pre-contract with the 26-year-old. His agents are already holding talks with interested clubs.
At the Spanish club, he could help replace Robert Lewandowski in the long run. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Tottenham both want more competition in the final third for their existing options, and an experienced striker like Vlahovic can certainly help.
